Fashion Retail ยท South Africa
Mosaic Fashion Group
Mosaic Fashion Group cut online overselling by 94% and moved 25 stores, a website and two marketplaces onto one live stock pool.
The challenge
Mosaic Fashion Group runs 25 stores across South Africa, a Shopify website and two marketplace channels. Before Groworx, each channel pulled from its own stock count. The website would show 12 units of a jacket while the warehouse had 3. Customers ordered, got cancellation emails, and did not come back.
The company tried to manage it with spreadsheets and a morning sync from their old ERP. By lunchtime the numbers were already wrong. A busy Saturday at two or three stores could sell through a popular size before the website noticed. Overselling ran at 8 to 12% of online orders.
Checkout speed was the other problem. Tills were slow, queues built up on weekends, and new cashiers took weeks to learn the old system. Online cancellations and in-store queues were both costing Mosaic real revenue.
The solution
Connected all 25 stores, the Shopify site and both marketplaces to a single live stock pool. When any channel sold a unit, every other channel saw the drop within seconds.
Replaced the old POS across all 25 stores. Transaction times dropped, new staff were productive in a single shift, and the tills kept working during internet outages.
Gave store managers a mobile dashboard showing their sales, stock levels and targets in real time, without needing to log into the back office.
